Highway and Roadway

PEC has worked with LA DOTD and numerous municipal/parish entities in the planning and completion of various Highway and Roadway projects for the last 30 years.  We have provided our highway clients with a full array of professional services including environmental reviews and assessments, topographic surveying, road design, right-of-way map development, right-of-way acquisition, utility relocation coordination and utility and road construction oversight. PEC has in-depth design experience in developing preliminary and final plans for both urban and rural roadways.  The firm’s design team has a sound understanding of the key issues involved in preparing roadway projects. All of PEC’s road design personnel have been with the firm for more than 10 years and have acted as a coordinated design team for DOTD and Parishes and Municipalities on numerous projects over the duration of their employment.
Our personnel have worked closely and coordinated with field survey inspection and geotechnical firms, utility companies and Clients in each phase of a project’s development. PEC is fully invested in urban and rural roadway design projects from inception through final construction.

PEC thoroughly understands that each type of roadway project has its own specific requirements. Projects for new road and highway construction, roadway rehabilitation and relocation/widening projects in rural and urban settings each have unique design features that must be understood to provide a safe and economical road design. We will work closely with the client and regulatory agencies to define the scope, prepare a schedule and insure that as many parallel tasks are performed as possible in order to accelerate a project’s completion.

PEC’s inventory of completed projects includes road reconstruction and overlay projects as well as 2-lane, 4-lane and 5-lane urban and rural projects for LA DOTD, the City of Baton Rouge and many other parish and local governments throughout southern Louisiana.  Consequently, PEC has proven ability to coordinate, manage and perform every level of work involved in urban and rural road construction including environmental assessments and permitting, comprehensive topographic and right-of-way surveys, hydraulic studies, utility relocations and upgrades as well as preliminary and final design and plans.

Roadway projects which PEC has been involved in may include construction administration, grant administration, etc.
